Its international footprint reaches beyond Korea to the United States, Europe, the Middle East, and various other parts of Asia. The company produces and distributes copper clad laminates, hydraulic equipment, and industrial machinery, in addition to offering development and maintenance services for information technology systems. In the construction field, Doosan undertakes projects including nuclear steam supply systems (NSSS), balance of plant (BOP), turbines, various plant facilities, freshwater and water treatment infrastructure, and road construction. Further diversifying its portfolio, the corporation manages golf clubs and condominiums; develops and supplies software; generates and sells electric power; manufactures, rents, and sells forklifts; engages in real estate development; and conducts financial investment activities. Doosan also participates in advertising, sports, and educational ventures. Moreover, the company provides internal combustion engines, construction machinery, and transportation components, complemented by a comprehensive suite of services encompassing research and development, manufacturing, IT, marketing, finance, and various engineering disciplines. The entity, originally known as OB Beer, Ltd., officially adopted the name Doosan Corporation in September 1998.
