Caspian Services, Inc., established in 1998 and based in Almaty, Kazakhstan, delivers a comprehensive suite of oilfield services to the oil and gas sector within Kazakhstan and the broader Caspian Sea region. The company, known as EMPS Corporation until its name change in July 2005, conducts its operations through three main divisions. The Vessel Operations segment manages and charters a varied fleet of shallow-draft offshore support vessels for natural gas and oil exploration firms. This fleet encompasses supply vessels, survey/utility boats, anchor handling multicats and support tugs, cable laying barges, accommodation vessels, and crewboats. In its Geophysical Services segment, the company provides onshore geophysical support to independent oil and gas exploration and development companies operating in Kazakhstan, including specialized 2D and 3D seismic surveys. Lastly, the Marine Base Services division oversees a strategic marine base located at the Port of Bautino on the North Caspian Sea. This facility offers extensive logistical support and amenities, such as both short- and long-term vessel moorings, a wharf with crane access for efficient vessel loading and offloading, a boatyard equipped for vessel lifting, additional long-term berths, water storage, vessel fueling capabilities, oily and wastewater collection and removal systems, weighbridge facilities, an electrical power distribution network, and sizable open-air storage areas.
