Fomento Económico Mexicano, S.A.B. de C.V. (FEMSA) engages in a diverse range of activities, notably serving as a major bottler for Coca-Cola branded drinks via its various subsidiaries. It handles the production, marketing, and distribution of these well-known beverages across numerous Latin American nations, including Mexico, Guatemala, Nicaragua, Costa Rica, Panama, Colombia, Venezuela, Brazil, Argentina, and Uruguay. Beyond bottling, FEMSA operates the popular OXXO small-format retail chain, which has a significant presence in Mexico, Colombia, Peru, Chile, and Brazil. The company also manages OXXO GAS service stations within Mexico, providing fuels, motor oils, lubricants, and various car care solutions. Furthermore, it oversees a network of pharmacies in Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, and Mexico, operating under distinct brands such as Cruz Verde, Fybeca, SanaSana, YZA, La Moderna, and Farmacon. The company's portfolio also encompasses the manufacturing and distribution of various industrial products, including chillers, commercial refrigeration equipment, plastic boxes, and specialized machinery for food processing, preservation, and weighing. Complementing these, FEMSA provides a suite of services such as logistic transportation, distribution and maintenance, point-of-sale refrigeration, and plastic solutions, alongside managing a distribution platform for cleaning products and consumables. As of December 31, 2021, its retail footprint included 20,431 OXXO convenience stores, 3,652 pharmacies, and 567 OXXO GAS fuel stations. Established in 1890, Fomento Económico Mexicano, S.A.B. de C.V. maintains its headquarters in Monterrey, Mexico.
