The company boasts an international footprint, with operations and sales extending across Sweden, Germany, the United Kingdom, France, Italy, the broader European continent, Asia, and other global markets. Its Forestry division oversees the stewardship of approximately one million hectares of woodland, supplying logs, pulpwood, and biomass fuel to sawmills, pulp mills, and facilities producing paperboard and paper. The Paperboard segment specializes in crafting paperboards primarily for consumer packaging, serving a clientele that includes brand owners, packaging converters, and wholesale distributors. Within its Paper segment, Holmen delivers a diverse range of papers suitable for publications like books and magazines, printed advertising materials, and packaging solutions, catering to publishers, printing enterprises, and retailers. The Wood Products division furnishes timber for construction and joinery applications, alongside advanced engineered wood products such as CLT (Cross-Laminated Timber) and glulam, and raw wood for pallets and general packaging. This segment also manages its own sawmill operations, supplying the construction, joinery, and packaging industries, as well as builders' merchants. Holmen's Renewable Energy division is responsible for the operation of 21 hydroelectric power plants and various wind farms, which together generate an estimated 1.2 terawatt-hours (TWh) of electricity. Established in 1609, Holmen AB (publ) maintains its corporate headquarters in Stockholm, Sweden.
