First Sensor AG specializes in the design, production, and global distribution of diverse sensor technologies, including chips, components, standalone sensors, and integrated systems. The company's advanced solutions serve the industrial, medical, and mobility markets worldwide. Its comprehensive product portfolio features a wide array of optical and opto-electronic sensor offerings, such as precise photodiodes (including quadrant PIN, avalanche, position-sensitive, and InGaAs types), silicon photomultipliers (SiPMs), integrated optoelectronic modules, laser diodes, and custom-engineered sensor solutions. For radiation detection, First Sensor provides specialized sensors for ionizing radiation and SiPMs. The company also offers an extensive range of pressure sensors, from fundamental elements and components to complete transmitters and bespoke OEM solutions. Liquid monitoring is addressed with both hydrostatic liquid level sensors and optical liquid level switches, while flow measurement includes mass flow sensors for gases and volumetric flow sensors. Beyond its core sensor lines, First Sensor AG delivers specialized products like blue next cameras and high-performance power semiconductors, notably power MOSFETs for aerospace and radiation-hardened high voltage diodes tailored for space applications. Its broad inventory further encompasses oxygen sensors, various miniature solenoid valves (including media-resistant versions), electronic pressure controllers, and miniature diaphragm pumps. Founded in 1991 under the name Silicon Sensor International AG, the company adopted its current name, First Sensor AG, in June 2011. Based in Berlin, Germany, First Sensor AG functions as a subsidiary of TE Connectivity Ltd.
