Morning in New York: macro factors and rate cut prospects in focus

The U.S. Fed has <a href="https://kz.kursiv.media/2024-09-18/rntt-fed-rate/">lowered</a> the federal funds rate for the first time since the start of the pandemic, cutting by 0.5 percentage points. Investors had been anticipating a rate cut for several months now: starting in July, they have been rotating into small-cap stocks, which are expected to be a key beneficiary from lower rates.
