Fincantieri S.p.A. is a global leader engaged in the shipbuilding sector, structured into three primary divisions: Shipbuilding; Offshore and Specialized Vessels; and Equipment, Systems and Infrastructure. The Shipbuilding segment is responsible for the design and construction of diverse vessels, including cruise ships and expedition cruisers, as well as an extensive range of naval craft. This naval portfolio encompasses everything from aircraft carriers, destroyers, frigates, and corvettes to patrol vessels, amphibious ships, logistic support vessels, multirole and research ships, specialized craft, and submarines. Additionally, this division offers comprehensive product lifecycle management, training, and assistance. Furthermore, it provides essential vessel maintenance and modernization services, such as repairs, refitting, conversions, and refurbishments. The Offshore and Specialized Vessels division focuses on engineering and fabricating sophisticated offshore support vessels tailored for both wind energy projects and the oil and gas industry. It also delivers special purpose vessels, including cable-laying ships and ferries, alongside developing autonomous (unmanned) craft. The Equipment, Systems and Infrastructure segment develops advanced energy generation and storage solutions, which feature integrated electrical, electronic, electromechanical, and entertainment systems. It also supplies specialized systems for stabilization, propulsion, positioning, and power generation, in addition to steam turbines. This segment further designs and integrates complex systems with an emphasis on automation, cybersecurity, telecommunications, and critical infrastructures. Beyond marine applications, it undertakes the design, construction, and assembly of substantial steel structures for major land-based projects, including bridges, viaducts, airports, ports, marine and hydraulic constructions, and large-scale commercial and industrial buildings. Beyond these core activities, the company extends its services to dry-dock operations management, comprehensive engineering, project and supply chain oversight, information technology consulting, sales and post-sales support for mechanical products, marine diesel engine maintenance, technological research and development, vessel accommodation provisions, and the chartering of various marine craft. Established in 1959, Fincantieri S.p.A. is headquartered in Trieste, Italy, and operates as a subsidiary of CDP Equity S.p.A.
