The company organizes its operations across five distinct segments: Vehicle Systems, Weapon and Ammunition, Electronic Solutions, Power Systems, and a general 'Others' category. The Vehicle Systems division specializes in the development and supply of various combat, logistics, support, and specialized vehicles. This includes armored tracked vehicles, CBRN protection systems, artillery, sophisticated turret systems, and a range of wheeled logistics and tactical vehicles. Its Weapon and Ammunition segment is dedicated to providing comprehensive firepower and defensive solutions, encompassing weapons, ammunition, advanced protection systems, propellants, and involvement in international projects and services. The Electronic Solutions segment focuses on networked systems, integrating sensors, platform connectivity, automated effectors for military personnel, cybersecurity defenses, and comprehensive training and simulation capabilities. Its product range features air defense, soldier systems, fire control systems, radar technology, and command, control, and reconnaissance systems, alongside simulations tailored for army, air force, navy, and civilian applications. The Power Systems unit supplies essential mobility solutions, control technologies, and digital applications primarily for the automotive and energy industries. Its diverse offerings include air management and thermal management systems, e-mobility and digitization solutions, hydrogen technology, metallic plain bearings, composite materials, and lightweight construction. Key products span emissions reduction technologies, actuators, solenoid valves, various pumps (water, oil, and vacuum), engine blocks, structural components, cylinder heads, plain bearings, and bushes, along with a global supply of replacement parts. This segment also manages significant aftermarket activities. Founded in 1889, the company was initially known as Rheinmetall Berlin AG before adopting its current name, Rheinmetall AG, in 1996. Its corporate headquarters are situated in Düsseldorf, Germany.
