The company also engages in proprietary trading, derivatives, factoring, installment services, leasing, and accounts receivable management. Beyond banking, CTBC offers a comprehensive suite of insurance products. This encompasses life, health, annuity, group, and investment-linked policies, as well as various property insurance options including fire, marine, miscellaneous casualty, voluntary auto, and personal accident coverage. The firm is also active in the securities and futures markets, facilitating trading in publicly-listed securities and providing investment access to emerging stocks and futures. Furthermore, it provides asset-backed security services. Its operations extend to venture capital, channeling investments into sectors such as information technology, communications, biotechnology, healthcare, cultural, creative, and alternative energy, along with established traditional industries. It also manages debt and mortgages and facilitates international and payment transactions. Specialized offerings include securities investment trusts, financial consulting, services for foreign financial institutions, discretionary investment management, and offshore fund master agency functions, as well as security services tailored for corporate entities. With a significant global footprint, CTBC maintains approximately 152 branches across Taiwan and an additional 116 overseas branches. Established in 2002, the company initially operated as ChinaTrust Financial Holding Co., Ltd. before rebranding to CTBC Financial Holding Co., Ltd. in June 2013.
