About

Achilles Corporation, a Tokyo-based company founded in 1947 and formerly known as Kohkoku Chemical Industry until its 1982 rebranding, is a diverse manufacturer and supplier of footwear, plastic goods, and industrial materials. While maintaining a strong presence in Japan, the company also exports its products globally to markets including North America, Europe, Asia, Oceania, and Africa. The company's extensive footwear collection features walking and athletic shoes designed for children, women, and men. These are marketed under popular proprietary brands such as Achilles SORBO and the SYUNSOKU family, which includes SYUNSOKU Baby, Junior, DANCE, and Kizuna. Achilles also broadens its shoe offerings through collaborations with various international brands. Beyond footwear, Achilles supplies a wide array of specialized materials. This encompasses synthetic leathers like Cabron and Partner, a casting leather, as well as PVC and PU leathers frequently utilized in furniture and shoe manufacturing. They also produce construction materials, such as floor and wall coverings, and rubberized fabrics essential for items like rainwear, inflatable boats, and air tents. Furthermore, their industrial portfolio includes advanced insulation solutions, specifically rigid fluorocarbon-free urethane foam and polystyrene foam products, alongside flexible urethane materials. Achilles also develops ST polymer for computer and electronic components, various electronics-related items including EMI shields and heat conductive sheets, RIM molds, and paint masking tools.
