The company's core activities include the harvesting, processing, and distribution of a wide array of seafood, such as Cape Hake, Horse Mackerel, anchovies, pilchards, prawns, scallops, crabs, Spanish Mackerel, abalone, and oysters. It also handles seafood import and export. Beyond seafood, Sea Harvest manufactures, distributes, markets, and sells dairy products like cheese, butter, and milk powders, available in both retail and bulk quantities, primarily serving South African retail, foodservice, and food manufacturing sectors. Furthermore, it sources, produces, and markets a range of fresh, chilled, and frozen convenience food items for the retail, foodservice, and catering industries. Its extensive fleet comprises 36 vessels in total, with 15 dedicated to deep-sea hake and Horse Mackerel fishing. Another six vessels operate from Mossel Bay, targeting hake, East Coast sole, pilchards, and anchovies, while three vessels based in Durban specialize in prawn harvesting. Established in 1964, Sea Harvest Group Limited, headquartered in Cape Town, South Africa, was previously known as Sea Harvest Holdings Proprietary Limited until its name change in February 2017.
