Seeking Alpha has identified 10 small-cap stocks that could benefit from the next phase of AI adoption. The platform cited a research note from Wells Fargo, which said the AI market could soon broaden beyond mega-cap tech companies to include smaller-cap firms.

As the bank noted, the focus is now shifting from enthusiasm about AI itself to whether companies can translate the technology into real operating improvements. On that front, smaller companies may have the most to gain, the note said.

Real revenue per worker among constituents of the S&P 500 has risen 8.1% since the launch of ChatGPT in November 2022, according to Wells Fargo. Now, companies in the Russell 2000 benchmark are beginning to show “some efficiency gains to start the year after months of productivity declines.” At the same time, while for S&P 500 companies every 1% reduction in labor costs translates into roughly a 2% increase in earnings per share, the figure for the Russell 2000 stands at 6%, analysts wrote.
