'It's like we've overcome gravity': Palantir chief recorded a New Year's Eve address

"We at Palantir are very grateful for your support and your generosity. We understand the courage many of you have shown in supporting us publicly and non-publicly, while we try to support the military and others who are doing really important and often dangerous work to preserve our way of life that underpins the superiority of the West. And one of the reasons I'm recording this video while cross-country skiing is because of a very similar analogy. You train, over and over again, to get your VO₂max up to a working level; you train technique, endurance, training all year long while everyone else around you is "having fun". All you do is train, sleep, train, work, and then there it is - pure pleasure: gliding across the snow, flying up the slope as if gravity doesn't affect you. In many ways, that's what Paul has been doing all last year, the last couple of years. It's as if we've overcome gravity - the very viscosity that seemed meant to constrain the true scope of our capabilities: making institutions, especially in the West, stronger, better, and safer; helping American and other workers do their jobs better, adding value to their labor; strengthening the fighting capabilities of American soldiers and warfighters and keeping them safe; protecting data - doing all the things that are core to the West. We couldn't have accomplished this without your help. We are eternally grateful to you and hope these holidays bring much joy and happiness to each of you who have supported us."
