Rare metal materials, including tantalum and niobium, are also supplied. Additionally, Solar Applied Materials Technology develops sputtering targets critical for thin-film deposition across applications ranging from data storage media, photovoltaics, semiconductors, and electronics to functional materials and bonding/vacuum components. The automotive sector is served by a range of specialized chemicals, including antifreeze/engine coolants, brake fluids, engine cleaners, anti-friction engine treatments, power steering repair treatments, and ATF treatment products. Complementing its manufacturing activities, the company provides resource recovery services, specifically recycling and refining catalysts and other metals. It also offers expert chemical and physical inspection and analysis services. Established in 1978, the company was originally known as Solar Chemical Co., Ltd. before officially changing its name to Solar Applied Materials Technology Corporation in October 1999. Its headquarters are located in Tainan, Taiwan.
