Hellerup, Denmark-based Bavarian Nordic A/S, founded in 1992, specializes in the research, production, and global distribution of vital, life-saving vaccines. The company's commercialized offerings include non-replicating vaccines for smallpox and monkeypox, marketed as IMVAMUNE, IMVANEX, and JYNNEOS. Additionally, their portfolio features Rabipur/RabAvert for rabies prevention, Encepur for tick-borne encephalitis, and MVABEA, an Ebola vaccine. Bavarian Nordic also maintains a robust pipeline of investigational treatments. This includes MVA-BN (freeze-dried), which has successfully completed Phase III clinical trials for smallpox; MVA-BN RSV, currently in Phase III development for respiratory syncytial virus; ABNCoV2, which completed Phase II trials targeting SARS-CoV-2; and TAEK-VAC, presently in Phase I/II trials for advanced HER2 and brachyury-expressing cancers. The firm engages in key partnerships, notably a license and collaboration agreement with AdaptVac, and licensing agreements with both the National Cancer Institute and the Public Health Service. Bavarian Nordic operates across a wide international footprint, with a presence in countries such as the United States, Germany, Belgium, France, Canada, the United Kingdom, Hong Kong, Saudi Arabia, Australia, Switzerland, and numerous other global markets.
