Its core businesses involve iron ore mining, steel production, and the processing of various steel products. The company conducts mineral exploration, evaluation, and development, yielding iron ore and pellets from its facilities along the Pacific coast. CAP supplies an extensive range of steel items and related materials, including reinforcing bars (such as rebars, helical bars, and CAP-SOL bars), grinding rods, wire rods, limestone, and quicklime. These products cater to a broad clientele, including construction firms, steel distributors and processors, industrial clients, wire manufacturers, producers of grinding balls, workshops, and copper mining enterprises. Additionally, the company manufactures specialized steel products like pipes and conduits, corrugated steel sheets, roofing and cladding solutions for industrial and commercial buildings, highway guard rails, components for photovoltaic structures, insulated panels, various open and laminated profiles, collaborative plates, steel plates, and diverse tubular products. Beyond its core steel operations, CAP has diversified into desalinated water production and the construction of power transmission lines. Founded in 1946, the company was formerly known as Compañía de Acero del Pacífico S.A. de Inversiones before officially changing its name to CAP S.A. in May 1991. Its headquarters are situated in Las Condes, Chile.
