Freedom Holding Corp. CEO Timur Turlov will participate in the closing bell ceremony at the Nasdaq stock market on Friday, June 14, according to the exchange’s official website.
At 16:00 New York time (1:00 Almaty time), Turlov will ring the bell signaling the end of trading for the day at the Nasdaq MarketSite in Times Square. Nasdaq states its iconic bell-ringing ceremony provides an opportunity to showcase a company before a global audience: “Hosted by a Nasdaq senior executive, our opening and closing bell ceremonies provide a platform for companies to generate meaningful brand exposure.”
Turlov and Robert Phillips, a senior managing director at Nasdaq, are both expected to speak at the ceremony.
In New York, Freedom Holding is cohosting the World Corporate Chess Championship together with the International Chess Federation (FIDE), to take place from June 15 to June 17. Turlov has served as president of the Kazakhstan Chess Federation since 2023.
In October 2019, Freedom Holding went public on the Nasdaq under the ticker symbol FRHC. Since then, the stock has soared more than 400% (as of the close on June 13, 2024). On June 14, it gained over 5% following the release of earnings: Freedom Holding Corp. reported that revenue doubled to $1.6 billion in the 2024 fiscal year, driven by increased interest income, insurance underwriting, and commission-based revenue. Net income for the year came in at $375 million.
